Valentine’s Day Special

As Valentine’s Day is approaching, I have compiled a short list of restaurants/activities to do in NYC suited for the occasion. I’ve never gone crazy over Valentine’s because I’m one of those people who believe that everyday is Valentine’s Day (i.e. you should always get flowers for your significant other whenever you feel like it, not only because it’s the 14th). But it’s still fun to celebrate love in any capacity wearing obnoxious amounts of red & pink.

Blank Slate Tea
121 Madison Ave #3
Blank Slate Tea is taking reservations until the 14th for their Galentine’s Special. It’s a delicious & beautiful tea set for 2 which includes a variety of foods: Roast Turkey Sandwich, Smoked Salmon Sandwich & Avocado Burata Sandwich, Pink Hummus Toast, Avocado Toast, Strawberries, Macarons & Brownies. The tea set also comes with 2 Rose Tea Lattes. If you’re looking for a romantic day-time date, Blank Slate Tea is the place to go. The tea set is $25/person.

Nomo Kitchen
9 Crosby St
A more upscale restaurant, Nomo Kitchen is the perfect place for a Valentine’s Day brunch date. You can make a reservation on Open Table before you go. Nomo Kitchen’s elegant décor makes a romantic ambience for you & your loved one. The entrance to the restaurant also includes walking through a fairytale archway. It’s truly magical & I guarantee you’ll have an unforgettable time at this restaurant.

L Room Café
41 W 14th St
I probably talk about this café way too much but it’s because I’m so obsessed. I have a post dedicated to L Room that I’m about to publish soon! If you or your partner is a sweet tooth, you definitely want to come here for their beautiful desserts. They even have a pink glitter latté just for Valentine’s Day purposes!

While We Were Young
183 W 10th St
While We Were Young is another very dainty & pink spot! I went to this Australian inspired café a while back & enjoyed my time there. From what I remember, they had great cocktails & truffle fries to die for.

See A Broadway Show
Who wouldn’t want to see a Broadway show as a date?! This would be perfect if the person you’re spending Valentine’s with is a theatre lover. There are so many great shows up & running right now, but I would have to recommend “The Prom” for Valentine’s Day. It’s a musical about love (surprise!) & honestly my favourite musical I’ve seen in a while. It’s hilarious, upbeat & inspiring; complimented with fantastic music & choreography! You can get half price tickets at TKTS the day of the show. Line up 20 minutes before the TKTS booth opens to ensure you manage to

Spa Date
If you want a relaxing spa date, head over to SoJo Spa or Island Spa & Sauna for a treat. The best thing about both places is that you can spend pretty much a whole day at their facility & use all of their amenities. For a more detailed look into Island Spa & Sauna, you can read my blog post here. Unwinding in a sauna is where I would choose to be for Valentine’s!

Get a Mani/Pedi
Go get a Mani/Pedi together! Regardless of gender, you don’t want to have gross nails. I like going to Oasis Nail & Spa on the Upper West Side. I would also recommend Chillhouse because of their beautiful space as well as the fact that you can get a killer cup of coffee since it’s a coffee shop as well.

Yoga Date
I’ve been in love with going to yoga to keep my state of mind calm & peaceful. I’ve always wanted Matthew to come with me but yoga isn’t really his thing, but I think it’s such a cute couples activity if you’re both up for it! So I’m going to throw the idea of going to Humming Puppy for your yoga date. Humming Puppy is hands down the most gorgeous yoga studio in NYC; I really like taking Tiffany’s classes! They also have a tea station where you can hang out before or after class with a hot cup of tea. If you’re interested in going, they’re available on Classpass. If you don’t have Classpass, you can click here for $40 off.

Under Lucky Stars
If you don’t know about Under Lucky Stars, now is the time to find out about them! They produce prints & phone cases of star maps which show the unique alignment of stars from a specific moment in time. I think it’s a very thoughtful gift for someone you love.

Do you have a woman in your life who loves lingerie? A lingerie set would make a very special night for Valentine’s Day! I’m so obsessed with lingerie simply because it makes me love my body & feel empowered. If you have someone in mind, these intricate, classy pieces below would make a great gift. Take a look at my favourite brand Daphale Studios. Another lovely brand is Vixsxen.

Happy Valentine’s Day! Let’s celebrate love.
